Mr. Isnaini Hasan (37 years old) or commonly called Mr. Isnaini is one of the alumni of the air conditioner service and washing training in the year of 2020 organized by Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun / The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) in cooperation with Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT), a liability company whose concerns on social and humanity in Indonesia.
This program is a form of INSIGHT’s commitment through the YIIM program to transform investments into social impact. In addition, this program is also in line with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs Number 1 on ending poverty and SDGs Number 2 on ending hunger and SDGs Number 17 on partnerships to achieve goals.
Mr. Isnaini currently lives with his wife and child (4 years old) in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta. He has been a supervisor for a project outside the city for 5 years. However, Mr. Isnaini were laid off and ultimately unemployed due to Covid-19 pandemic. While unemployed, his wife helping for their family cost of living, by working as marketing in a private company.
Fill the Spare Time by Participating in Training
While mr. Isnaini was unemployed, he looked for a new occupation and found an AC training advertisement on Instagram organized by YIIM in cooperation with INSIGHT. He finally was motivated to enroll and learn, considering he has a basic machine skills thus it would help him to quickly adapt on AC washing service training.
After waiting for some time, he was finally chosen to take part in the AC washing service training organized by YIIM and INSIGHT. He attended the training for 5 days and delved all the theory and practice taught by the trainer.
Mr. Isnaini found this training was very beneficial for him and the trainer also experienced. The training was very advantageous considering he understood and was able to practice properly all of the stages of washing and service AC also Freon contents thus it could be his armed to start an independent business.
Starting a Career in a New Field
After participating the training, Mr. Isnaini was chosen as one of the participants who received assistance business tools from YIIM in cooperation with INSIGHT in the form of steam washing equipment, keys, ladders, and Freon.
The assistance was immediately used by Mr. Isnaini to start opening an entrepreneurship on AC service under the name “ARRAYAN TEKNIK”. He did his marketing by putting up billboards in front of his house. Moreover, Mr. Isnaini also does marketing through social media such as Instagram and Whatsapp Business, which a digital marketing strategy he got through entrepreneurial management class organized by YIIM.
At first, he runs the business by himselve. However, after a while, he asked his siblings and some of his friends which were online motorcycle taxis to join with the Freon AC service and contents business, which were carried out by mobile from house to house and from settlement to settlement.
Mr. Isnaini taught them from how to use tools through ask them to go directly to running an AC service business. He is happpy to help his friends to join the work, and so far the customers’ locations are around Pancoran, South Jakarta.
For washing the air conditioner, he sets a price starting from IDR. 75,000 for houses and IDR. 100,000 for apartments. For light service, replace electronic equipment, he charges from IDR. 150,000 to IDR. 250,000 and for heavy duty freon service and indoor and outdoor repairs he charges from IDR 350,000 to IDR 500,000
The income that Mr. Isnaini receives in a month ranges from IDR. 3,000,000 to IDR. 4,000,000.
In a month, the average number of customers for washing AC is around 20 customers. Then for AC service the average number is 8 customers. Mr. Isnaini feels that after participating in the training, his self-confidence has increased and his skills in the field of air conditioning have also increased, which has led to an increase in income to support his family’s daily life.
Spreading Knowledge to Many People
Mr. Isnaini is progressing and incourage to learn from every experience he encounters in serving AC washing services. He even became a trainer at the speedwork academy to provide training in washing and servicing AC vehicles for cars, buses, and refrigerator trucks.
Mr. Isnaini became a coach starting from a friend who made an offer to join the car AC service. He also wants to learn car AC in depth. He finally joined the practice of learning at a friend’s car repair shop, he didn’t waste this opportunity while learning and practicing car AC service.
Currently, Mr. Isnaini has mastered the theory and practice of both home air conditioning washing and car air conditioning services. Eventually, he took part in car AC certification at the Work Training Center (BLK) Bandung. He carried out this certification for a month and after participating in the certification, he finally got an offer to become an AC service coach at Speedwork Academy. In addition, he also had the opportunity to become a teacher in the AC washing service training organized by YIIM in cooperation with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) in Solo, Central Java, to train the victims of gross human rights violations who are protected by LPSK.
After successfully starting a business and exploring the knowledge of AC service, mr. Isnaini expressed his hope, “Thank God now I have mastered the knowledge of refrigeration extensively, not only air conditioning, refrigerators, freezers, large scale and air conditioning buses. In the future, my goal is to make schools more accessible to other areas in Ternate for the people there.”
