In order to celebrate World Ocean Day on June 8, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) held an environmental conservation program on June 25, 2022 with the tagline #AdaKebaikanDiSetiapInvestasimu” which was held in Pulau Kelapa, Thousand island.
This event was attended by, Mr. Andrean Malta as Head of Retail Sales Distribution and Business Alliances of INSIGHT, Mr. Chrisbiantoro as Chairman of YIIM, Mr. Muhammad Nuralim as Secretary of Kelapa Island Village, Safaatul Anam as Chairman of Pokdarwis Kelapa Tunggal and Mr. Petra Gabriel Michael or usually called Jebraw an influencer who cares about environment, the people of Kelapa Island, and guest investors from INSIGHT.
There are several series of events carried out in this event, namely: economic empowerment for fishermen through training in cooking frozen food, planting mangrove tree seedlings on the coast of Kelapa Island, rehabilitation of coral reefs in the coastal area of Kelapa Island.
In his remarks, Mr. Andrean Malta as Head of Retail Sales Distribution and Business Alliances INSIGHT Company conveyed, “This program is held in the context of World Ocean Day. This program is a form of our concern for the environment in Kelapa Island. In addition, we are also one of the investment companies whose profits are intended for social activities and the benefits can be felt by the whole community, such as the people of Kelapa Island.”
Mr. Chrisbiantoro as the chairman of YIIM conveyed, “We are supported by Insight Investments Management Company to provide benefits to community of Kelapa Island. With the planting of mangrove tree seedlings and rehabilitation of coral reefs, we can improve the environment around Kelapa Island and with frozen food training activities, we can train the skills of mothers on Kelapa Island.”
Mr. Muhammad Nuralim as Secretary of Kelapa Island Village also stressed, “With the planting of mangrove tree seedlings and planting coral reefs, we can protect the surrounding sea. And with the frozen food cooking training, they can train Kelapa Island mothers to increase their business.”
Frozen food cooking training was held in the side yard of Nyiur Melambai RPTRA. In this cooking training, they practiced making frozen food fish and vegetable nuggets which were trained by Mrs. Wanmayetty, an alumni of culinary training in the year of 2019 assisted by YIIM. The raw materials for the fish to make these nuget are purchased directly from the fishermen in Kelapa Island. This cooking training was attended by 17 women from Kelapa Island and Harapan Island. During the cooking training, the women were very enthusiastic about participating in this training. After the frozen food cooking training was completed, the participants received a training certificate and a goodie bag.
At the same time, an environmental conservation program was held in the coastal and coastal areas of Kelapa Island. First, planting 2000 mangrove tree seedlings with 20 guest investors from INSIGHT and assisted by 10 local residents and directly accompanied by Pokdarwis Pulau Kelapa Tunggal. Second, the rehabilitation of 10 coral reef modules in the coastal area of Kelapa Island, which is 1.5 to 3 meters deep in the sea, was assisted by 10 local residents.
This assistance is a form of the company’s concern for the environment and the economy of the surrounding community. This program is also in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 without poverty, number 13 for handling climate change, and number 14 for ocean ecosystems.
YIIM as a non-profit organization open to all parties which would like to support or provide donations in any form. Thus every donation given to YIIM will be directly distributed to beneficiaries who need and are less fortunate.
