INSIGHT and YIIM Distribute Aid to Cianjur Earthquake Evacuees

On Wednesday 24th November in the year of 2022, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) and in collaboration with the Buhairatul Istirhamiyah Islamic Boarding School and the Cianjur Diniyah Taklimiyah Communication Forum (FKDT) distributed social assistance to earthquake victims evacuees in Cianjur Regency.

The logistical social assistance was distributed to 9 (nine) evacuation camp points, including in zone 7 (seven) evacuation post points in Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, totaling +- 965 evacuees both infants, children, adults and the elderly. The 7 evacuation posts include:

  • Al Jihad Musholla Post RT 1/RW 3 in Kampung Cariu Wetan Mangunkerta Village totaling +- 115 evacuees.
  • The RT 2/RW 2 post in Cariu Village, Mangunkerta Village, totaled +- 150 evacuees.
  • The RT 1/RW 2 post in Kampung Cariu, Mangunkerta Village, totaled +- 200 evacuees.
  • The RT 5/RW 2 post in Kampung Lebak Saat, Cigrass Village, numbered +- 200 evacuees.
  • The RT 2/RW 9 post in Karamat Village, Sukamulya Village, totaled +- 100 evacuees.
  • The RT 2/RW 7 post in Jamaras Village, Sarampad Village, totaled +- 100 evacuees.
  • The Rt 1/RW 8 post in Bayabang Village, Talaga Village, totaled +- 100 evacuees.
  • Then, zone 2 (two) post points with a total of +- 204 other evacuees. Among others, in Babasaran Village, Ciputri Village, Pacet District, there were +- 120 evacuees and evacuation posts in Legok Sabeh Village, Pakuon Village, Sukaresmi District, with + – 84 refugees.

The social assistance provided consisted of 90 pcs of 5 kg of rice, 30 pcs of 2 liters of cooking oil, 135 pcs of canned sardines, 30 boxes of boiled instant noodles, 60 boxes of UHT milk, 30 boxes of fried instant noodles, 300 pcs of Roman malkist biscuits, 150 pcs of wafers , 60 kg of sugar, 150 pcs of teapot, 120 boxes of coffee, 30 kilos of eggs, 30 pcs of soy sauce refills, 600 bottles of mineral water, 180 boxes of dancow vanilla milk, 60 boxes of milna baby biscuits, 60 pcs of child pampers, 60 pcs of soap sticks, 30 pcs of toothpaste, 120 pcs of shampoo sachets, 30 pcs of dab soap, 30 pcs of diarrhea medicine, 30 pcs of medicine for dizziness, 30 pcs of fever medicine, 30 pcs of cold medicine, 30 pcs of balsam, 30 pcs of blankets, 100 ready-to-eat rice, 1 ticket package, tarpaulin, and 7 ready-to-eat food packages consisting of shredded meat, orek tempeh, and potatoes.

 

This program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs number 1 on poverty reduction, number 2 on reducing poverty, and number 17 on partnerships to achieve goals.

In this aid distribution program, assisted by 6 (six) staff from the YIIM team, 3 (three) staff from the INSIGHT team, and 20 (twenty) from FKDT volunteers and the Buhairatul Istirhamiyah Islamic Boarding School.

On this occasion, Mr. Chrisbiantoro as the Chairperson of the YIIM Management delivered, “The program for distributing logistical assistance to evacuees of earthquake victims is YIIM’s and INSIGHT’s quick response in helping the Cianjur earthquake victims get through their difficult time. Hopefully the assistance in the form of groceries, medicines, pampers, milk, tarpaulin, tickets and ready-to-eat food can at least ease the burden on the refugees. We are deeply saddened by this disaster.”

Mr. Suluh T Rahardjo as the CSR Coordinator of INSIGHT also conveyed “Our condolences for the earthquake disaster that befell the people of Cianjur district. As a form of INSIGHT’s concern, we are distributing logistical assistance to evacuees in less touched areas. Hopefully with this assistance it can meet the basic needs of the victims.”

Mrs. Siti Nurhalimah as a representative of the earthquake victims in Kampung Cariu, Mangunkerta Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency said, “We would like to thank YIIM and INSIGHT for the logistical assistance to us, the victims of the Cianjur earthquake. This assistance means a lot to us through our difficult times. Thank you also for the moral support to us, we feel we are not alone.”
