On August 23rd to 24th in the year of 2022, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) cooperation with Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) held a Cosmetology and Hairdressing Training program. This training program is a form of INSIGHT’s commitment to participate in helping people who are in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic to have economic creativity. This Cosmetology and Hairdressing Training is part of the Community Empowerment Program. This training is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 regarding to reduce poverty and number 10 regarding to end inequality.
This training was started of the opening by Mrs. Dewi Astari as the YIIM administrator. She delivered, “Thank you to YIIM’s main partner which INSIGHT, who has been supporting all programs, one of which is the Community Empowerment Program. The skills training provided by YIIM is different from other training institutions, because our training is a social entrepreneurship training which the training knowledge gained will not only be for entrepreneurship but also the knowledge can be taught to others.”
This training is carried out from 10.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB. There were 14 participants who attended the Cosmetology and Hairdressing Training, including 5 participants with disabilities, 3 participants from BAPAS inmates, and 6 participants from the communities. The training participants were guided by a trainer Mrs. Regita Cahyani, who is one of the alumni of the YIIM and INSIGHT cosmetology training. Mrs. Regita Cahyani is now independent and has started a cosmetology business called Gitaacms Wedding.
On the first day, the material includes a theoretical explanation of facial skin and make-up tools, as well as a simulation of the practice of cleaning and applying makeup which is directly exemplified. After that, the practice session continued, all participants started to practice independently how to make up that had been taught by the trainer. On the second day of training, the participants practiced applying makeup directly to the model, followed by a hairdressing practice session. During the two-day interactive training session, the trainer always checked the condition and progress of the participants who were applying their respective make-up. The participants were very active in asking and answering the trainers, questions about the application of make up to how to start a cosmetology business for beginners. At the closing session of the event, the participants given messages and impressions, and then closed with the distribution of certificates and a group photo session.
The Cosmetology and hairdressing training provided by YIIM with INSIGHT aims to create entrepreneurs in the field of cosmetology who can serve consumers by car (pick up orders). YIIM as a non-profit institution is very open to all parties who want to support or provide donations in any form. Thus every donation given to YIIM will be channeled directly to the entitled beneficiaries.
