Pertamina Training & Consulting Company (PTC) a subsidiary of Pertamina Company (Persero) re-collaborated with Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) to organize advanced coffee barista training in the framework of social entrepreneurship.
Social and Environmental Responsibility
This program is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Pertamina Training & Consulting Company, which in the year of 2022 PTC received the TJSL and CSR awards for its consistency in community empowerment.
Previously, PTC and YIIM succeeded in creating new entrepreneurs in the fields of Coffee, Frozen Food Culinary and Hydroponic Vegetables batch of the year 2021 who have opened businesses spread across the Greater Jakarta area.
The coffee barista advanced training program was held in two stages; 1# online session via zoom meeting that has been done on Monday 29th August 2022. 2# offline session at Kedai Kopi Inspirasi on Wednesday-Thursday 31st August and 1st September 2022.
The advanced online barista training session was attended by 18 participants from the training alumni barista entrepreneurship in the year of 2021. Of the total participants, 8 participants were selected to take part in the offline training session which was held for two days from 10.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB at the Inspirasi Coffee Shop, which was located at the Grand Wijaya Ruko Complex, Blok F 62 B, RT 06/RW 01, Pulo Village, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta City.
This offline training took place and still implementing the Covid-19 health protocols such as showing proof of vaccines, using masks, Covid-19 self-assessments, maintaining distance and washing hands and sterilizing equipment used in each session.
Training Theory
The theory taught in this training include reviewing and deepening last year’s training theory, reviewing skills that have been possessed after last year’s training, introduction and practice of using coffee tools both manual and machine, and theory and practice of making latte art.
In addition, participants also learned about coffee shop management including calculating starting a coffee business, determining the cost of goods sold (HPP) of products, sales and promotion strategies, selecting the right raw materials, and standard operating procedures for coffee shops.
In the event, Mr. Okeu Yudipratomo as Corporate Communication & CSR Staff of Pertamina Training and Consulting Company gave a speech, he conveyed “We would like to convey that Pertamina Training & Consulting’s support for this advanced coffee barista training is our commitment in supporting the strengthening of entrepreneurship social in society. We hope that the community can be independent and be able to take part for strengthening the community’s economy.”
In addition, Mr. Chrisbiantoro as the chairman of the YIIM management gave his opening remarks, he delivered “We hope that by holding this advanced coffee barista training, participants can take part in a series of training seriously. We also hope that this training can provide benefits as part of our efforts to rise after the COVID-19 pandemic situation, raise the spirit of social entrepreneurship, and foster the spirit of the wider community. As stated by the tagline that has been proclaimed by President Joko Widodo, recover faster and get up stronger.”
