Pertamina Training & Consulting Company (PTC) through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program re-provides an opportunity for PTC-assisted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) activists for the alumni of 2021 program. On this occasion, PTC in cooperation with Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun/Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development held 2 series of social entrepreneurship training programs, namely; entrepreneurship management training with training methods for trainers or training of trainers (ToT) and Coffee Barista Training for Friends with Disabilities.
Barista for Disabled Empowered
On 19th to 21st September 2022, PTC and YIIM held a Barista Training for Friends with Disabilities. This program aims to increase the competitiveness and creativity of friends with disabilities to become independent entrepreneurs in the coffee sector. It was recorded that 53 people with disabilities who were deaf and physically disabled registered to take part in the training and after the selection, there were 38 people who were very serious and met the requirements to take part in the training.
Furthermore, the coffee barista training program for friends with disabilities was held in two stages: First, an online session via zoom meeting which was held on Monday 19th September 2022 for 4 hours. The two face-to-face sessions (offline) for two days, namely on 20th to 21st September 2022, located at Ko+labora, Hayam Wuruk Street No. 108, Maphar, Taman Sari district, West Jakarta City.
Recorded the online session coffee barista training for friends with disabilities was attended by 38 participants from the categories of low vision (visual impairment), physically handicapped and deaf. From the total participants, 20 selected participants were taken, namely 10 deaf disabilities participants and 9 physical disabilities participants and 1 low vision participant took part in face-to-face (offline) training sessions which were held for two days from 10.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB. at Co+labora.
This training was guided by trainer and coffee practitioner Humam Hasan as Head Barista of Kopi Inspirasi, Fransisca Nathalia as barista and business owner of the Sasca Coffee Shop, and also assisted by 1 assistant trainer, Aries Adryanto, alumni of barista training of friends with disabilities held by YIIM and PTC and business owners Warkop Uhuyy.
The materials taught in this training include introduction to barista equipment and espresso menu making, practice using manual coffee tools and making manual brew menus such as V60, Vietnamese drip, aero press, and french press also making basic menus such as americano, long black, coffee latte, contemporary milk coffee. In addition to practice, participants are also taught the calculation of coffee business capital.
The event was opened by representative of Pertamina Training & Consulting Mr. Teuku Mirasfi, he conveyed “We would like to thank you to YIIM for helping PTC to organize coffee barista training for friends with disabilities. This training is our second year of conducting entrepreneurship training activities and has produced several alumni, one of which is Mas Aries who has been promoted to assistant trainer for this training. We hope that this training can improve the standard of living of friends with disabilities and also become entrepreneurs. This program is a PTC TJSL program to organize one of the economic pillars so that the participants can be independent in their economy. We also hope that this program can be sustainable, and we will monitor and help thus the participants can become independent coffee entrepreneurs. Hopefully, after the training you can continue to develop the knowledge gained from the trainers.”
Chrisbiantoro as Chairman of the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development (YIIM) conveyed, “We are YIIM in cooperation with PTC will monitor and accompany you in growth and business development period, especially in the coffee sector thus more alumni like Mas Aries, especially from friends with disabilities, will spread their inspiration to become coffee entrepreneurs. We from YIIM would like to thank PTC without PTC’s support it would not be possible for us to hold this training. He is the one who gives trust to YIIM thus this training event can be held. This training is in its second year, we hope that the results of this training will be better thus YIIM and PTC will continue to be committed to accompanying, educating and training more friends with disabilities. Hopefully the results of this training can be useful for friends with disabilities”.
Creating MSME Trainers
Previously, on September 15th to 16th 2022 at Wisma Hijau Cimanggis, Depok, PTC and YIIM also held training for prospective trainers (Training of Trainers/ToT) from the alumni of entrepreneurship training batch of 2021 who have pioneered the coffee shop, culinary business. frozen food and hydroponic vegetables spread in the Greater Jakarta area.
Specifically, for MSME trainer training, PTC and YIIM conducted a selection and 19 people were selected including Aries Andriyanto, a coffee barista alumnus from a friend with disabilities who had started to open a coffee shop with the name “Angjay” Angkringan Bajay in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.
Also there is Ambar Yuliasiwi, a frozen food class alumnus who has started a frozen food business in South Jakarta. Ambar also has a halal certificate and a Business Identification Number (NIB). In addition, there is a participant from the hydroponic class, namely Mistanto in Ciputat, he is also active in empowering children from the underprivileged, scavengers and odd jobs to carry out hydroponic activities.
The materials taught for two days consisted of: #1 techniques for preparing materials and presentations, 2# techniques for being a facilitator, 3# business innovation and digital marketing, 4# socializing the jakpreneur program from the City Government’s Child Protection and Population Empowerment Empowerment Service (PPAPP). South Jakarta, 5# bookkeeping for MSME entrepreneurs, 6# taking care of MSME legality, 7# legal protection for MSME activists.
Social and Environmental Responsibility
This program is part of the CSR scheme of Pertamina Training & Consulting Company, in the year of 2022 PTC received a 4-star award in the TJSL and CSR awards organized by BUMN Track. This award is a form of commitment from Pertamina Training & Consulting in empowering and empowering the community through knowledge and competitiveness. One of these commitments is community empowerment in cooperation with YIIM by creating new entrepreneurs in the field of coffee, frozen food culinary and hydroponic vegetables for the 2021 batch who have opened businesses spread across the Greater Jakarta area.
In the year of 2022, the PTC program with YIIM has been running since August 31st 2022 and has held several training menus, namely coffee baristas, frozen food culinary and hydroponics offline and online with a total of 49 participants with pre-prosperous backgrounds, casual workers, laid-off workers former inmates of the prison for friends with disabilities and various other backgrounds.

All the PTC and YIIM programs are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly goal number 1 concerning to prevent poverty and goal number 8 concerning to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth and decent work for all.
