Above mentioned words is a sentence that gives motivation and encouragement to Ambar. Ambar Yuliasiwi or commonly called Ambar is a single parent who is an alumni of social entrepreneurship skills frozen food batch III in 2020, which was held by the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development or Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) in cooperation with PT. Pertamina Training Consulting (PTC). This program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 on “Reducing Poverty”.
Starting from the SDGs number 1, YIIM together with PTC created a social entrepreneurship program that aims to empower the economy of disadvantaged communities and underprivileged communities to produce micro and small scale entrepreneurs.
Finding a Way Out with Determination and Hard Work
The COVID-19 pandemic initially made it difficult for Ambar to earn income because selling were always declining. Even in one day she could not sell her products. Until at one point, she received orders from people around to make snack box foods such as pastels, risol, and other snacks. From there, Ambar often gets orders for various other types of food.
Hardworking lead to an Opportunity
Ambar feels that her food order business needs to be developed again. There was an occasion through information that she found in WhatsApp group, Ambar received information about the opening of registration for frozen food training batch III held by YIIM together with PTC.
Ambar then enrolled herself to the program. The opportunity she got turned out to be fruitful. Ambar not only registered and joined for frozen food training, but she also became a beneficiary of the assistance from the program. This opportunity also had an impact on the development of her business. Ambar then managed to get assistance from the program in the form of business equipment to develop her frozen food business.
Making best effort to take an opportunity
Currently, Ambar has developed her frozen food business through assistance of equipment provided by YIIM and PTC. Ambar’s frozen food business sells various types of food such as banana nuggets, meatball tofu, rissoles, solo sausages, and others. Moreveor, she also added other businesses such as selling cookies, cakes, and opening catering. Ambar named her business as “R&D Food”. Ambar has also obtained halal certification for the cookies that she sells. In fact, she has also obtained a distribution permit for his food from BPOM.
Achievement results of determination and hard work
Based upon her abilities, Ambar actively participates in several cooking competitions in the Tangerang area. In January 2022, Ambar has won three competitions, namely the South Tangerang National Cooperative Day competition, the Bintaro Modern Market competition, and the South Tangerang UMKM competition. Ambar is also often invited to teach and be a cooking resource for a number of events. She wanted share her to the other. Therefore, when Ambar received an offer to teach and be a resource person, she always agreed. She wants to share benefit that she got from the training to them who need help.
“Facing uncertain condition, you have to be smart to find something that produces something. If there is an opportunity, use it well to strengthen knowledge…”.
Furthermore, Ambar is also active in other training programs. He feels that in these uncertain times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she must look for something productive. If she gets an opportunity, she also tries to use it well to add knowledge, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.
Hope for Achievement
Ambar felt very grateful for the help that she received from the frozen food social entrepreneurship program organized by YIIM in cooperation with Pertamina Training Consulting (PTC). She felt that the training and the assistance that she received is valuable and help her to develop her business and increase economic of her family.

Ambar’s expect in the future is that she wants to develop her business to be more advanced and open a small cafe. Not only that, Ambar is also eager to learn a lot about financial management. She does this because in some cases Ambar cannot make a balanced allocation of funds between her business capital and the profits that she gets to feed her children.
