On Wednesday, February 28th 2024, the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) organized a social entrepreneurship baking skills training program focusing on how to make pastries for underprivileged communities and friends with disabilities.
This 1st batch baking training is part of a series of social entrepreneurship cooking skills training which YIIM and INSIGHT have planned to organize 3 batches gradually. This training taught how to make florentine cakes and peanut balls.
The total number of participants who took part was 12 people consisting of 6 people underprivileged community backgrounds, 4 people former residents assisted by BAPAS Central Jakarta community inmates, and 2 people from friends with hearing impairments. In this training, the material taught includes an introduction to entrepreneurship and micro-small scale business permits, an introduction to tools and materials, practice of making cakes, calculating the cost of goods sold (HPP), a question and answer discussion.
The training event was held at the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development Office located at Grand Wijaya Center Street Blok F/62B, RT.6/RW.1, Pulo Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta, which was held from 10.00 WIB until 15.30 WIB. The baking training trainers are Mrs. Ambar Yuliasiwi as the main trainer and Mrs. Umaroch as the assistant trainer.
In this event, an opening was attended by Mr. Chrisbiantoro as Chairman of the YIIM Management, Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinator of INSIGHT, and Mrs. Riccana Rosita as Treasurer of the YIIM Management.
The activity began with opening remarks from Mr. Chrisbiantoro as Chairman of the YIIM Management. He said, “We, YIIM, have been established for 10 years and one of our flagship programs is social entrepreneurship training with various skills, one of which is baking skills. So far we have also been supported by our partner INSIGHT in organizing these programs. “We hope that the participants can make good use of this training to gain knowledge, experience and apply it by becoming independent entrepreneurs.”
Furthermore, Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan as INSIGHT’s CSR Coordinator on this occasion said, “The history of INSIGHT’s founding is that we are an investment and mutual fund sales company which also provides opportunities for investors to invest and share goodness through our CSR program. According to the tagline, investments to social impact invites people to invest while having a social impact on society. “INSIGHT in cooperation with YIIM, consistently hold CSR activities thus we can have a real impact on community independence.”
Also, Mrs. Elly Widiyawati, one of the training participants, said, “Thank you to YIIM and INSIGHT Company for providing us with baking skills training. Hopefully this training can provide knowledge and inspiration for us so we can become more independent”
This activity is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 1 concerning fighting poverty, Number 8 concerning decent work and economic growth, and Number 17 concerning partnerships to achieve the goals.
