The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development or known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) in cooperation with Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) realizing the further spirit of social entrepreneurship for underprivileged communities in Indonesia. On September 15th in the year of 2023, we provided business equipment assistance to one of the alumni of the coffee barista social entrepreneurship training, Humam Hasan (43) or usually called Humam.
Before becoming a participant in YIIM Barista Social Entrepreneurship Training, Humam is an inmate former (WBP) from the Class 1 Correctional Center (Bapas) Central Jakarta. In the year of 2018, Humam took part in tiered barista entrepreneurship training, started from training to barista internship held by YIIM from March to June 2018. After the training and internship, he continued with coaching and became head of barista at Kopi Inspirasi until June 2023. Apart from being head of barista, Humam is also trusted to be a barista trainer for the INSIGHT Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program for the empowerment program for underprivileged communities and friends with disabilities.
The coffee business equipment assistance provided by YIIM and INSIGHT includes bar tables, coffee machines, espresso machines, naked portafilters, coffee thermometers, electric milk frothers, electric grinders, digital coffee scales, cooler boxes, cup sealers, espresso glasses, stoves, showcase, hand grinder, coffee tamping mat, coffee grounds container, electric kettle, paper cup rack, 58mm tamper, cafe light fitting cable, measuring cup, multi-purpose bottle, stove regulator, plastic bag, cafe light bulb, paper cup .
Providing assistance with coffee business equipment is a form of YIIM and INSIGHT’s concern for underprivileged communities who wish to start a business after they take part in coffee barista social entrepreneurship training.
The handover of this assistance was given directly by Romadhona as YIIM’s representative to Huma at his business place called “Pila Pili Kopi” at Kotabumi Ujung Street No.16, RT.8, Kb. Melati, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta City (Opposite the Jami’e Darusaalam Mosque). Humam will run his business uses the cart concept. He has plans to sell various kinds of coffee such as milk coffee, hazelnut milk coffee, americano, creamy latte, butterscotch milk coffee and non-coffee such as caramel choco cheese, signature choco, matcha latte, mochachino, lychee basil at prices of IDR 10,000 to IDR. 17,000. Apart from selling offline, Humam will also sell online using an online buying and selling platform.
As the recipient of business equipment assistance, Humam said, “I am grateful to YIIM and INSIGHT for the business equipment assistance provided. This business equipment assistance can be a hope and a new start for me to start entrepreneurship independently. “And this assistance can increase my family income.”
This business equipment assistance is part of the social entrepreneurship spirit carried out by YIIM which started running in 2018. YIIM in cooperation with partners and donors such as Insight Investments Management Company supports each other and carries out this program because it is in line and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) numbers 1, 2, 8, 10 and 17 which have been proclaimed by the government as Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 concerning Implementation of Achievements Sustainable Development Goals.
YIIM is also very open and open to cooperation and donations from any parties to advance underprivileged and disadvantaged communities. YIIM is determined to continue producing entrepreneurs from community empowerment programs.
