On Friday, 21st July 2023, financial literacy training was held from 09.40 to 12.00. In her remarks Mrs. Noor conveyed “we thank and appreciate YIIM and INSIGHT who have been patient and consistent in providing attention through social entrepreneurship training to Pondok Bambu assisted residents, and today the debriefing is continued with financial literacy training, not only given to assisted residents but also attended by staff and officers of the Pondok Bambu Detention Center, this training event was very useful for us to know how to manage finances properly and appropriately. Especially for a wife/mother who must have the ability to manage family finances. Furthermore, if in the future the alumni of the training will become entrepreneurs, of course this financial literacy material is very useful. I hope that all participants can take this training seriously and as well as possible.”
The second introductory remarks from Mr. Chrisbiantoro as Chairman of the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development or known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) in his remarks Mr. Chrisbiantoro said “the financial literacy training was held on the basis that we are aware of the skills training that colleagues have attended before, in the form of a series of frozen food, sewing and styling training. Hair stylist hair alone is not enough in the context of seeking social entrepreneurs who have good financial planning and entrepreneurial management in the future. and a resilient and stable economy.”
The financial literacy training was attended by 38 participants consisting of 25 inmates who had attended a series of social entrepreneurship skills training and 13 prison officers guided by moderator Ega Melindo YIIM staff, this financial literacy training presented resource person Reyhan Adinugraha as part of retail sales, distribution and business alliances associate Insight Investments Management Company. In his material presentation, Reyhan conveyed an overview of the financial literacy series, saving and investing. In this training, the resource person’s presentation module was printed and distributed to all training participants. The material presented included: a). importance and benefits of financial literacy b). basic concept of financial planning c). Saving sets the ideal budget post d). basic financial literacy in financial planning and understanding for investment e). Types of investment. Then the training session continued with discussion and questions and answers submitted by the participants. Furthermore Reyhan Adinugraha in his closing material also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the participants in the financial literacy training who attended, he conveyed the enthusiasm to continue learning and find out opportunities and opportunities in becoming a social entrepreneur with financial planning that has good resilience, don’t hesitate looking for information and lots of references about investment opportunities.”
This program is also part of YIIM and INSIGHT’s commitment to support government programs to create productive prisons capable of equipping inmates with various skills. It is hoped that this program can inspire wider elements who have concern for economic and social empowerment in detention centers. So that it can break the chain of potential crimes in criminal acts.
