In commemorating the national children’s day, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as The Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) in cooperation with with Insight Investments Management Company (INSIGHT) held a social humanitarian program to provide educational and social tools for children with disabilities, rare diseases, scavengers, street children, fishermen’s children and children from underprivileged communities. This assistance program will be implemented from July 22 to early August in the year of 2022.
A total of 295 aid packages for educational and social aid were distributed to beneficiaries, consisting of 236 educational aid packages in the form of stationery, writing books, drawing books, drawing pencils, children’s snacks, and children’s story books. Then, 20 packages of social assistance for children’s health in the form of UHT milks, children’s diapers, dry tissues, wet tissues, Oreo biscuits, Roma biscuits, and 36 social assistance packages in the form of children’s milks and children’s snacks.
On this occasion the Director of Insight Investments Management Company (Insight), Ria M. Warganda, explained that the provision of social assistance for education & health organized by Insight and YIIM in commemorating National Children’s Day (HAN) in the year of 2022 is in line with the social responsibility that is consistently carried out by Insights.
“In this moment of National Children’s Day 2022, Insight and YIIM provide social assistance with a total of 292 education and health packages to children with cancer, disabilities, street children, children of scavengers and fishermen’s children in five locations spread across Jakarta and Bekasi. This social assistance is a form of Insight’s consistency in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end hunger, eradicate all forms of poverty and ensure adequate and inclusive quality education as well as encourage learning opportunities for everyone, especially for children in need.” conveyed Ria M. Warganda.
Ria also hopes that Indonesian children will continue to maintain their enthusiasm for learning despite all their limitations.
The assistance was distributed to 5 regional points in the Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI) province, including the following:
- 50 packages of children’s education assistance and 20 packages of social assistance for 27 pediatric cancer patients assisted by the Laskar Aferesis Sharing Foundation (YLAB) at the Darmais Cancer Hospital, West Jakarta.
- 50 packages of children’s education assistance to 50 scavengers assisted by Pelangi Semesta Alam Kindergarten in the Bantar Gebang Garbage Disposal Area, Bekasi.
- 36 children’s education assistance packages and 36 social packages in the form of milk and snacks to 36 children with disabilities and rare diseases assisted by the Indonesian Rare Disorder Community in the South Jakarta area.
- 50 packages of children’s education assistance to 50 street children and scavengers in the Keramat Jati area, East Jakarta assisted by Rumah Langit Baru in the Keramat Jati area, East Jakarta.
- 50 packages of children’s education assistance to 50 children of Kaliadem Traditional Fishermen, Muara Angke, North Jakarta.
This program is in line with the agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3 regarding healthy and prosperous life and number 4 quality education.
