In the spirit of the beautiful Ramadan, The Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development, also known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management Company, organized another social action as part of the GEMPITA Ramadan program. This activity occurred on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Andara Scavenger Village, South Jakarta.

Andara Scavenger Village is a village where the majority of members work as scavengers and have limited access to basic amenities. This neighborhood, which has approximately 140 heads of households and a total population of more than 400 people, faces difficult social and economic challenges. Every day, they struggle to achieve their basic necessities despite minimal resources. Through this program, YIIM hopes to spread joy and bring some relief to the residents of Andara Scavenger Village during this beautiful month.

The activity started with a free haircut service, which was met with enthusiasm by the inhabitants. Not only did children and teenagers use this service, but so did their parents. They happily lined for haircuts, relishing the simple moment of pleasure and refreshment. The parents who accompanied their children also felt the sense of community, speaking with one another while waiting their turn.

Following the haircut session, the action resumed with the distribution of 50 iftar packages. The YIIM team, aided by Berbagi Bedah partners, gave iftar packages to Kampung Pemulung Andara people. The distribution process was orderly and pleasant.

In addition to bringing direct benefits to the community, this activity is part of YIIM’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of hunger reduction (SDG No. 2) and establishing partnerships for the common good (SDG No. 17). YIIM expects that GEMPITA Ramadan will develop a spirit of sharing and mutual cooperation in the community. With this spirit, it is hoped that more parties would be inspired to engage in social initiatives that help others.
