On February 11,2023, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) or known as the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development supported by Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) has provided nutritional package assistance to stunted children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in Adang Village, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).
According to data from the Alor District Health Office, the number of chronic malnutrition (stunting) children under five found at 454 Integrated Services Post (Posyandu) in the area during 2021 was 3,136 cases. Economic Condition of families living below the poverty line is the reason of malnutrition experienced by them. This condition got worse after the Seroja storm hit Alor in early April 2021. This event had a major impact on the Alor region. In addition to the deaths and injuries, the Seroja storm also destroyed fishing boats and fields, causing many heads of families to lose their main source of income.
The purpose of implementing this Humane Social Program is a form of concern and Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT). YIIM and INSIGHT collaborate with WeCare.id, Friends of Alor, Resolve Asia, and the Friends of Alor Community in implementing the #1000KadoNutrisi Stunting Program for Alor children. A total of 66 beneficiaries were provided with nutritional package assistance. This program is to help reduce malnutrition for the better experienced by children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in the Alor region.
The assistance program began with the introduction of the 1000 Nutrition Packages program to beneficiary mothers, distributing questionnaires to beneficiary mothers, counseling on healthy nutrition, and children’s health checks such as measuring height, weight, and children’s nutritional status. The nutrition packages provided are sea fish, vegetables, tofu, tempeh, and chicken eggs. The aid packages are food ingredients that have high nutritional value and are good for children, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
The goals of this program are also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs number 2 regarding on ending hunger, achieving food security and better nutrition, 3 regarding on healthy living and supporting prosperity for all for all ages and number 17 regarding on partnerships to achieve goals.
To realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), nutritional package assistance will be provided starting from February to March in the year of 2023. The Alor Friends Community in cooperation with the local health office will monitor the development of the nutritional status of the beneficiaries.
YIIM as a non-profit organization is open to all parties who would like to support or make donations in any form. Because every donation given to YIIM will be distributed directly to the beneficiaries who are entitled and less fortunate. Hopefully the good cooperation between these institutions will be further enhanced in the future in order to realize social welfare and can inspire people to share with each other.
Inspiration Greetings!
