Jakarta – On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, the coffee barista skills internship program closing ceremony was held. This event is one of a series of social entrepreneurship training programs for protected citizens of the Indonesian Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK RI) which was held in collaboration with Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun / the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) and the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC).
Previously, this program started with a social entrepreneurship training event for barista skills and cooking frozen food online with a total of 46 participants, consisting of 20 barista training participants, and 26 frozen food training participants, which was held on Thursday until Saturday on 9 – 11 December 2021.
Furthermore, the participants were selected to take part in offline barista and frozen food social entrepreneurship training with a total of 30 participants, where each training consisted of 15 barista training participants and 15 frozen food participants which was held on Wednesday-Friday 15-17 December 2021 which was held at the RI LPSK Building, East Jakarta.
The beneficiaries of this program are specifically for people who have a survivor background and are protected under the auspices of the LPSK RI for terrorism crimes from various regions such as Bali, Poso, Palu, Jakarta, and Surabaya. This program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) numbers 1, 2, 8, 10, 16 and 17 which have been proclaimed by the government as Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 concerning Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
The closing ceremony of this internship was held at the inspirasi coffee shop which is also located at the YIIM Office Building, Grand Wijaya Center Complex Blok F/62B, RT 06/RW 01, Kel. Pulo, district. Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, 12160.
The event was attended by Mrs. Dewi Astari as Secretary of the YIIM and staff including Mr. Achmad Fanani Rosyidi, Mrs. Ratih Puspita, and Mr. Ja’far Rafki. Whereas from UNODC Indonesia, representative who attended the ceremony consist of Mrs. Avezia Ariane. Furthermore. Subsequently, Mrs. Susilaningtias representaitve from LPSK RI also attended the ceremony, Mrs. Susi is Deputy Chairperson, she is also accompanied by LPSK staff namely Mrs. Tiara Rahmawati and Mrs. Tyas. Moreover, the three intern of baristas also present in the ceremony.
The 3 (three) participants who took part in the barista internship program were the best participants from the selection made by the committee in the process of a series of social entrepreneurship training for barista skills from the online to offline stage. The intership participants included Mrs. Ni Wayan Ani from Bali, Mrs. Vivi Normasari from Purwakarta, and Mr. Mufti Ahbal from Sidoarjo.
Prior to the closing of the internship, Mr. Hasto Atmojo as Chairman of LPSK RI was also present in order to visit and stay in touch with the barista apprentices at the Inspirasi Coffee Shop and YIIM management and staff.
Mrs. Susilaningtias in her remarks and at the same time officially closing the event said “Finally, the barista internship program is over. However, this stage is not the end, but rather the initial stage or the first challenge to move to the next process. I really hope that these 3 interns can become role models of independence for survivors, victims, or protected citizens of LPSK RI. If this is successful, then the survivors and other victims will also have the opportunity to succeed, because this is the first project, which is expected to be a role model. Don’t get discouraged and break the friendship, after this, all of the internship participants will continue to be accompanied by YIIM.”
Mrs. Avezia Ariane said “Thank you to the representatives from YIIM and LPSK RI, especially to the interns who I saw were very passionate and enthusiastic about participating in this program. Here I represent our Country Manager, Mr. Collie, who apologizes for not being able to attend. So this program is a program that we have initiated since 2021. We hope that this program can become a role model for survivors assisted by LPSK RI so that they can be more independent.”
Mrs. Dewi Astari, Secretary of YIIM Management, also said, “These 3 (three) barista internship participants are the best participants from the selection results that we have carried out from a series of online to offline training. The goals of this program are that we hope that participants can immediately become independent entrepreneurs in their respective regions and become role models or role models for other survivors. ”
In addition, in the event, 3 (three) barista interns also conveyed their testimonies and express their happines in the ceremony. One of the intern, Mr. Mufti Ahbal, said, “I thank YIIM, LPSK RI and UNODC, for giving us the opportunity to learn as much as possible here. We really feel that this internship provides meaningful knowledge and knowledge for us to start an independent business in the future.”
After the barista apprenticeship program was completed, the next and last event was the provision of business capital equipment for selected participants from frozen food and barista training.
