On 3rd March in the year of 2023 Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management Company in collaboration with the Class 1 Correctional Center (BAPAS) Malang to hold entrepreneurial training on washing steam vehicles for correctional inmates or ex-convicts at the Griya Abhipraya Building. This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 1 regarding on reduce poverty, Number 8 regarding on decent work and economic growth, and Number 17 regarding on partnerships to achieve goals.
This training was attended by 5 participants from BAPAS Malang correctional inmates, held at the Griya Abhiparaya BAPAS Malang building which is located at Jurangrejo, Pandensari Village, Pujon District, Batu City, East Java Province Malang which was held from 09.00 WIB to 14.00 WIB.
The training participants were given a theoretical explanation by the trainer regarding the introduction of tools and materials for steam washing, procedures for washing and drying vehicles, tire polishing techniques, and an explanation regarding the business of steam washing vehicles. After the facilitator gave a theoretical explanation, the training participants were directed to practice using electric dynamo steam equipment and how to steam wash vehicles. In addition to training, there is provision of capital assistance for steam washing business equipment for BAPAS Malang business units, including; 1 unit of steam washing compressor machine, electric dynamo, hose, spray, chamois, brush, brush, vehicle washing soap, and tire polish soap.
The training event was attended by Mr. Suprianto as the Head of Administration Subdivision of BAPAS Malang and Achmad Fanani Rosyidi as Program Manager for YIIM Management. This activity was held as part of a series of collaborations between YIIM and BAPAS Malang which has been running since the year of 2021 and is also the result of a planned follow-up meeting between the YIIM team and BAPAS Malang.
This training activity began with the opening by Mr. Suprianto who is also the head of the Griya Abhipraya team. He conveyed, “Thank you to YIIM and INSIGHT who has conducted vehicle steam washing training for BAPAS Malang assisted residents and provided capital assistance for vehicle steam washing business equipment. We are greatly helped by the existence of a program for the development of activities at Griya Abhipraya which is part of the BAPAS Class 1 Malang program. Hopefully in the future we can continue to work together.”
Achmad Fanani Rosyidi conveyed, “Congratulations to the inmates of BAPAS Malang who are participants in the vehicle steam washing training. Hopefully it can be a provision for gentlemen in the future to support independence skills. We hope that after this training you will be able to work in this business. We are YIIM and INSIGHT, will provide business equipment capital assistance for the BAPAS business unit. You are very welcome if after this training you want to join to work in this business unit.”
