On February 6 2024, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun or known as the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development (YIIM) re-collaborate with Titan Baking to organized culinary training using the Demo Baking method with the menus of Bakpia Cheese and Klepon Cheesecake. One of the great spirits of this program is as a form of strengthening cooking skills for YIIM MSME alumni.
This baking demo was carried out in the Titan Baking kitchen located at Titan Baking Fatmawati RS. Fatmawati Raya Street No. 51B, West Cilandak, Cilandak, South Jakarta. YIIM previously collaborated with Titan Baking in the year of 2019 and 2020 with a total of 39 culinary training beneficiaries and currently they are opening various businesses in the field of cakes and pastries as well as various types of snacks in the Jakarta and surrounding areas. Alumni from this program took the opportunity to became trainer or mentor for culinary classes, she is Mrs. Wanmayetty.
A total of eight YIIM alumni beneficiaries with backgrounds consisting of underprivileged communities and friends with disabilities (deaf and quadriplegic).
Training materials
Cooking Demo entrepreneurship training starts at 10.00 WIB. The training was led by Chef Iman and Chef Rega. The first session, Chef taught how to make Klepon Cheesecake, starting from introducing raw materials to processing techniques. Next, participants were taught the second recipe, namely Bakpia Cheese.
During the event, the participants were very interactive and also asked several questions directly to Chef Iman and Chef Rega. Apart from that, participants were also given the opportunity to practice making Bakpia Cheese skin. One of the deaf friend participants, namely Mrs. Siti Hodijah, took opportunity to asked the Chef of tips how to make bakpia skin if there were no tools. Mrs. Siti has high enthusiasm, even though she has limitations that does not hinder her enthusiasm for learning at the cooking training held by YIIM and TITAN BAKING. To provide rewards to participants who actively ask questions and participate in the training, participants are given goodie bags and shopping vouchers which can be used to purchase training materials so that participants can practice at home.
YIIM is committed to assisting and guiding underprivileged community groups and groups of people with disabilities to become competitive communities based on local resources.
