Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun / the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development (YIIM) through social funds from limited liability company (PT) Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) is determined to create change and improve social welfare through a flagship program of entrepreneurial empowerment.
The program aims to create change agents who also share inspiration and knowledge for those who are still having difficulties regarding access. This social program is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 1 to eradicate poverty.
Through YIIM’s entrepreneurial empowerment program along with INSIGHT, it has produced many small entrepreneurs, such as barista entrepreneurs, barbers, and one of them is in the culinary field. This occassion YIIM would like to present one of the profiles of the cooking training alumni Mrs. Sari Wulandari (36 years old) or commonly called Mrs. Wulan. Mrs. Wulan is an alumni of the culinary entrepreneurship training batch 2 in 2020. Starting with a high interest in culinary cooking, Mrs. Wulan had the opportunity to study in cooking training held by YIIM and Insight.
After attending the training, Mrs. Wulan did not stop to hone her skills in the culinary field. Subsequently she applied for business equipment assistance and received culinary business equipment assistance from YIIM and INSIGHT. Currently, Mrs. Wulan is starting culinary business under the name “Latanza Crackers Keripik Singkong” at Jl. Cempaka Warna RT 10/RW 04, Cempaka Putih Timur, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta.
Mrs. Wulan is a housewife who has two dependent children. The first child is in grade 1 of junior high school and the second child is in grade 2 of elementary school. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the husband experienced a decline in income for the family. In order to help her husband meet the needs of the family, Mrs. Wulan works hard to sell cassava chips online (via social media) and offline (offering direct merchandise through social gathering communities, Empowerment and Family Welfare (PKK) associations and other gatherings).
Every morning, Mrs. Wulan leaves to buy the raw materials for her business at Rawasari Wet Market, in Central Jakarta. In a day she usually buys raw materials for cassava chips as much as 15 kg. While selling cassava chips, Mrs. Wulan already has regular customers from around and outside her environment.
The assistance provided by YIIM and INSIGHT really helped Mrs. Wulan to increase her business production. It also increases Mrs. Wulan income.
In a month, Mrs Wulan is able to earn an average net income of IDR 1,000,000 (one million rupiah) to IDR 2,000,000 (two million rupiah). The business owned by Mrs. Wulan also has a Micro, Small and Medium Business License (IUMKM) and also a Food Safety Education Certificate (PKP) by the DKI Jakarta Health Sub-dept.
The opportunity provided by YIIM and INSIGHT is certainly very helpful for Mrs. Wulan in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Mrs. Wulan said, “Thank you to YIIM and INSIGHT for the opportunity and trust in her to participate in the training and get help with cooking business equipment. Hopefully with the determination and passion to change fate and help the family’s economy, it can also encourage me to provide inspiration for the environment around me. Just like YIIM and INSIGHT did to the wider community. I hope YIIM and INSIGHT continue to help people like me.”
For friends in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta who are interested in trying various snacks made by Mrs. Wulan, you can order them through the mobile number +62 857 1856 9472.
Determined to continue to create entrepreneurs from community empowerment programs. YIIM is also open to cooperation and donations from any party to advance the underprivileged and disadvantaged communities.
Inspiration Regards!
