Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) or known as the Foundation for Inspiration of Indonesia Development in collaboration with Bekasi City Mosque Ta’lim Assembly Coordinating Board (BKMM) and in cooperation with Insight Investment Management Company (INSIGHT) has organized a social entrepreneurship training regarding on sewing dolls which took place on August 2023. The training was held for ten days, started from 14th August to 28th August in the year of 2023 and was attended by 10 BKMM members from Bekasi city. This program implementation is part of INSIGHT’s commitment to carry out the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by setting aside some of the profits to support social and humanitarian programs, in this case one of which is the empowerment of social entrepreneurship.
In addition, this program is a manifestation of the regarding spirit “Transforming Investments Into Social Impact”, aims to bringing positive impact investment for social change and progress.

Mr. Chrisbiantoro as the Chairman of the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development (YIIM) gave a remark“This doll sewing training is a new menu in the social entrepreneurship training held by YIIM and Insight Investments Management Company, I hope this training will provide new benefits and colors for the beneficiaries and in the future there will be many MSME actors or activists in many places.”
Furthermore, the second remark was delivered by BKMM representative Ms. Siti Napsiah, in her remarks she conveyed “We are grateful to have this opportunity, I hope the 10-day training for BKMM members can bring benefits and they will later be involved in doll production to meet customer demand.”
Doll sewing training for BKMM members guided by Ms. Situ Napsiah as the trainer and Mr. Rohmat as assistant trainer. The training is held for 10 days every day, the training starts at 09.00 WIB until 15.00 WIB. Located at the Diah Mandiri Toys Doll Factory in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi Regency.
The material presented in the training is in the form of theoretical and practical material including (a). Introduction to doll sewing equipment, tools and machines. (b). Practice running a doll sewing machine without a needle and thread. (c). Practice sewing with a variety of different materials (curvy, round, straight and smooth materials). (d). Practice sewing ball dolls (e). Practice sewing neck pillow dolls (e). Practice sewing teddy bears. (f). Material introduction.
In each material the trainer also opened a question and answer discussion session as well as a review session at the start of the session and an evaluation session at the end of the every day material.
In this series of training, participants were provided with training modules that had been prepared by the trainer team and the committee. Each participant was also given a sewing toolkit and a sewing machine table to use in the hands-on practical session. In the hands-on practical session each participant got the task of practicing how to operate a sewing machine, how to thread and needle on the machine, techniques for making patterns and sewing patterns, techniques and how to insert cotton, in this training participants are also guided to calculate the capital requirements for sewing dolls .
This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 1 regarding on fighting poverty, No. 8 regarding on decent work and economic growth, and No. 17 regarding on partnerships to achieve goals. As a non-profit organization, YIIM is very open to all parties who wish to support or make donations in any form. Because every donation given to YIIM will be distributed directly to the rightful beneficiaries.
