In order to continuing the 2021 Artesian Drilling development assistance program, in May 2023 YIIM in cooperation with Insight Investments Management Company provided assistance in the procurement of artesian drilled well piping in the East Java region. YIIM is supported by INSIGHT in collaboration with the Gemah Mustika Insani Foundation (YGMI) in carrying out the procurement of pipelines for artesian drilled wells.
Plumbing procurement assistance was provided in two locations. The first location is in the Wonogiri Regency area to be precise in Wates Hamlet, Jatinom Village, Sidoharjo, Regency. Wonogiri, Central Java, with a pipeline construction process from 13rd May 2023 to 28th May 2023. With a pipe length of 800 meters. The beneficiaries of the pipeline assistance are 15 families totaling 48 people, 10 agricultural lands, and 1 cemetery as a place of pilgrimage.
The second location is in the Ponorogo Regency area, to be precise, in Gelangkulon Village, Sampung District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, the construction process from 13rd May 2023 to June 2023. With a pipeline length of 370 meters. The beneficiaries of the pipeline assistance for 10 families are 40 people, 10 plots of agricultural land, and one Shirothol Mustaqin Mosque.
Prior to the assistance for the procurement of pipelines, the residents of the Wates Hamlet, Sidoharjo, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java were areas whose only source of livelihood relied on rain-fed fields or fields. Thus, during the dry season a lot of unproductive land is left without plants. and also because it is located in the highlands, water sources are also lacking. To fulfill clean water, we collect it from natural sources which are located about 2 km away from settlements and are located on the banks of the river. If there is a flood, the water obtained is cloudy and the pipelines are often washed away. So the standard of living of the people is only limited to meeting their daily needs. After the assistance in procuring community piping in Wates Hamlet, Sidoharjo, Regency. Wonogiri only needs to travel 200-400 meters to get water.
As for the people of Sodong Hamlet, Gelangkulon Village, Kec. Sampang, District. Ponorogo, East Java province, is an area with rocky hills with extreme roads, and clean water is very difficult to find. During the dry season, the community has to go 700 meters to a water source, but now that the procurement assistance is available, the community only needs to go 150 meters to get clean water. So with the procurement of piping of artesian wells it can help a lot in the lives of residents.
On the same occasion Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan as the Coordinator of Corporate Social Responsibility of PT Insight Investments Management has conveyed “INSIGHT is an investment manager company. What distinguishes us from other investment companies is that we invite our customers to invest while sharing goodness for the community and the surrounding environment, in accordance with our principle of “Transforming Investments to Social Impact” through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The procurement of this pipeline is one form of Insight’s concern for the lives of the community and farmers. We hope that with this pipeline, the community will be helped by clean water during the dry season and the farmers will be more productive.”
The maintenance of both the water machine and the electricity supply of the attersis drilled well and subsequent piping is supervised by YIIM and YGMI in coordination with local stakeholders and residents of Wates Hamlet, Jatinom Village, Sidoharjo, Regency. Wonogiri and Gelangkulon Village, Sampung District, Regency to help maintain the existence of the well. Artesian drilled well water is provided free of charge and is currently being used for clean water for every resident’s house, caring for residents’ agricultural land, and places of ablution, houses of worship and cemeteries. This well is an investment of goodness and is useful for generations.
